  • Public Meeting: Top of State Street Plaza Redesign

    The City of Madison Planning Division is hosting a public meeting to plan the redesign of the top of State Street pedestrian plaza areas on West Mifflin Street and North Carroll Street where State Street meets the Capitol Square.

  • Downtown Trash Collection Friday

    There will be no recycling, trash, or large item collection by the Madison Streets Division on Thursday, June 19 due to the Juneteenth holiday. If your material is normally collected on Thursday, it will instead be collected on Friday, June 20.

  • West Washington Avenue Closure

    Starting Friday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m., the City will close West Washington Avenue, between the Proudfit/Regent/West Washington intersection and the Vilas/South Park/West Washington intersection, to deconstruct the existing pedestrian bridge.

  • East Wilson Street Closure

    Starting at 7:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, the City’s paving contractor will begin final surface paving operations with a full closure of East Wilson Street, from South Franklin Street to South Pinckney Street.

  • Brittingham Park Tennis/Pickleball Court Repairs

    The courts will be closed on June 10 and 11 for Parks staff to remove the existing damaged fencing on the south side of the courts and replace with temporary fencing for the remainder of the 2025 season.

  • Madison Early Voting Information

    Interested voters are encouraged to act now to vote absentee for the Tuesday, June 17 Special Election for Dane County Supervisor, District 1.

  • City Budget Engagement Sessions

    The City of Madison is hosting five budget engagement sessions in June. Each meeting will focus on a different aspect of local government and the City services provided to residents.

    Madison Water Utility crews are flushing water mains downtown this week during the late evening and early morning hours.
